Removal and Installation

Removal

CAUTION:
CAUTION:Disconnect the battery negative lead.
  1. Locally detach the floor covering.

  1. Remove the powertrain control module security shield.
    1. Remove three steel rivets.
    1. Pull downwards to remove.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:When disconnecting multiplugs do not pull on the wiring; pull on the multiplug body.
    Disconnect the powertrain control module multiplug (one bolt).

  1. Remove the powertrain control module.
    1. Carefully ease the powertrain control module from the bracket.
    1. Slide down to remove.

Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Refit the powertrain control module multiplug retaining bolt by hand before tightening to avoid damage to the module pins.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Always refit the security shield using new rivets in order to maintain passive anti-theft system integrity.
  1. Refit the components in reverse order.
