If vehicles requiring bulb replacement exhibit high push in or pull out efforts, it may be caused by a rusty bulb retainer clip. To service this condition, a
new teflon coated clip should be installed.
1.
Remove the socket and wire assembly from the rear lamp body. Refer to the appropriate Car Shop Manual, Section 32-20.

Locate the metal retainer clip on the socket and check the clip for rust. If the retainer clip is rusty, remove the old metal retainer clip and replace it
with a new teflon coated retainer clip, part number E6MY-13513-A. Position it on the socket as shown in Figure 5.
NOTE:
DO NOT STRETCH THE NEW RETAINER CLIP OUT OF SHAPE WHEN POSITIONING.
3.
If required, obtain a new bulb and insert it into the socket and wire assembly.
4.
Insert the socket and wire assembly into the tail lamp body and test to assure system is working properly.
