ISSUE:
Tie rod ends returned from the field appear to be prematurely worn due to the lack of lubricant.
ACTION:
The proper lubrication interval for the tie rod ends and steering linkage is every 15,000 miles (24,000 kilometers). This is a revision from
the 30,000 mile interval called out in the published maintenance schedules for these vehicles. These schedules will be revised in all future
printings.
NOTE:
If the tie rod ends contain pipe plugs, the pipe plugs should be removed and replaced with grease fittings.
