RETURN OF DEALER SERVICE STOCK All vacuum switch assemblies (service part number E1AZ-12A182-D) in dealer service stock must be
returned immediately to Ford for credit.
Return all unused service stock through your normal order processing channel. Form FPS-340, "Customer Request for Credit, or Return of Parts and
Accessories", Reason Code "L" (Campaign parts return), must accompany the returned parts. To obtain full credit to your parts account, the form should
be annotated, "RETURNED PER INSTRUCTIONS IN EMISSIONS RECALL 86E53". Credit to your parts account will cover normal return freight
and parts costs.

The 0.1 hour administrative allowance must be added before inserting the total labor time in Box "B" of the Form 1864.
REPORTING OF COMPLETIONS
Only the Form 1864 will be accepted for reimbursement under this program. Upon completion of the required service, the Forms 1864 must be
completely filled out and signed by authorized dealer personnel. The Forms 1864 must be entered through the Direct Warranty Entry (DWE) system.
Dealerships without DWE capability must submit copy number 2 of the Forms 1864 by mail. Should your dealership receive preprinted Forms 1864 with
a seven digit claim numbers, you must drop the first digit and enter only the last six digits. You must sight verify the claim number for accuracy.
It is important that all claims be filed for all completed units so that you will be reimbursed and our records will show completion,. Any problem
encountered with this recall should be discussed with your FPSD Service Zone Manager.

Ford Motor Company is voluntarily recalling some 1981 and 1982-model Ford LTD and Mercury Marquis cars equipped with 4.2 or 5.0 Liter engines.
Our records indicate that you own one of these cars.
Please contact a Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer in your area to arrange for this recall service. The dealer will modify your vehicle's emission control
system at no charge to you. The time needed to perform this service is about one hour. If you do not have this service done, your emission warranty
coverage may be reduced. Also, your car may not pass an emission test that may be required in your area.
When you call your dealer for this service, ask for a computer check on the "CARES" or the "OASIS" systems to see if your car needs other recall work.
If it does, the dealer can tell you about the required service.
Your vehicle's identification number is shown on the enclosed form. Please detach the postcard on the cover sheet of the form. Complete any of the
sections that may apply to you and mail the postcard to us. Please give the rest of the form to your dealer at the time of service. If you lose the form, the
dealer will still service your car at no charge to you.
When you have this recall service performed, your car will need a new emission control information decal. This decal is enclosed. The decal has your
car's identification number printed on it. Since this decal can be used only on your car, it is important that you have the decal with you when you take
your car to the dealer. The dealer will place the decal on your car after servicing the emission control system.
If the dealer cannot answer any questions you have regarding this recall service, you may contact the nearest Ford Parts and Service Division District
Office whose address is shown in your Owner Guide.
