On 1985 LTD/Marquis vehicles under freezing conditions, the seat belt plunger in the "B" pillar could freeze/jam if water has entered the mechanism,
and not release the seat belt retracting mechanism when the door is opened. To service this condition, a newly designed plunger seal is now available.
Installation must be performed as follows:

Clean the painted surface at the "B" pillar around the seat belt plunger with isopropyl alcohol.

Insert the foam seal over an index finger and depress the foam with a thumb to allow paper backing to be peeled off.
