Removal and Installation
Remove
1. Disconnect the battery earth lead.
2. Remove the door trim (refer to Operation No. 43 706 0).

CAUTION:

Do not touch the adhesive surface as re‐bonding will be impaired.
3. Locally peel back the door insulation material.
   Using a plastic knife, (disposable cutlery) cut through the Butyl strip to enable the foam insulator to be peeled back for access. DO NOT attempt to peel the insulation from the door without cutting the butyl.

4. Disconnect the operating rod.
1. Open the securing clip.
2. Detach the rod from the lock.

5. Remove the three lock fixing screws.

6. Remove the interior door handle.
1. Disconnect the handle illuminating lamp (where fitted).
2. Remove the two screws to release the handle.

7. Disconnect the door ajar sensor wiring harness connector on the door.

8. Remove the lock and handle assembly.

9. Open the plastic lock cover.

10. Disconnect the door lock electrical connector.

11. Remove the cable mechanism plastic shield by prising it back over the locating post.

12. Unclip and remove the door ajar sensor.

13. Remove the interior handle cable.
1. Pull the outer cable from the locating bracket on the lock.
2. Turn the cable through 90° and remove the inner cable from the bell crank.
Motor – Door Lock – Rear – Remove (33 780 0)
14. Remove the lock motor.
   Remove the two retaining screws and remove the electric motor.
Install
15. Refit the components in reverse order.
