Auxiliary Heating - Booster Heater Mondeo 1997 (08/1996-09/2000)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Drain off the coolant. For additional information, refer to Section  303-03 Engine Cooling.

  1. Remove the intercooler.
    1. Remove two bolts each on the right-hand and left-hand sides.
    1. Disconnect the hose.
    1. Unclip the EGR system vacuum hose.

  1. Pull out the power steering reservoir and unclip the fuel hoses.

    • Keep the power steering fluid reservoir horizontal and lay it down to the left.

  1. Detach the booster heater.
    1. Separate the booster heater connector.
    1. Detach the intake hose from the booster heater.
    1. Detach the exhaust pipe from the booster heater.
    1. Unclip the wiring harness.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The fuel pipe can only be completely removed when the additional heater has been removed from its location.
    Disconnect the coolant hoses and fuel pipe from the additional heater.
    1. Unclip the coolant hoses.
    1. Disconnect the coolant hose.
    1. Disconnect the coolant hose.
    1. Disconnect the fuel pipe.

  1. Remove the additional heater.
    • Detach the additional heater from the front bracket but include the rear bracket.
    • Turn the additional heater to the left and remove from its location.

Installation

  1. Install the components in reverse order.
