Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
Right-hand drive vehicles
  1. Remove the instrument panel right hand side lower trim panel.
Left-hand drive vehicles
  1. Remove the glove compartment.
All vehicles
  1. Detach the passive anti-theft system (PATS) module from the retaining bracket.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the PATS module.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When installing a new immobiliser (PATS) module, the red master key must be the first key used to start the engine.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
