Body Closures - Luggage Compartment Lid Mondeo 1997 (08/1996-09/2000)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Disconnect the four electrical connectors.

  1. Withdraw the wiring harness.
    • Detach the cable guide grommet (three sprung locators) to allow the wiring harness to be withdrawn.

  1. Remove the luggage compartment lid hinge wiring cover trim.

  1. Using a suitable marker pen, mark the position of the luggage compartment lid hinges.

  1. Remove the luggage compartment lid.
    • With the aid of another technician remove the hinge bolts from each side.

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Align the luggage compartment lid to the position markings before fully tightening the hinge bolts on both sides.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
