Rear Suspension - Tie Bar—4-Door/5-Door Mondeo 2001 (10/2000-02/2007)
Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the tie bar bracket cover.

  1. Detach the intermediate exhaust hanger insulator from the tie bar (if equipped).
Vehicles with xenon headlamps

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The headlamp leveling sensor wiring harness is attached to the left-hand tie bar.
    Detach the headlamp leveling sensor wiring harness from the tie bar.
All vehicles

  1. Detach the parking brake cable from the tie bar.

  1. Detach the rear wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the tie bar.

  1. Detach the tie bar from the wheel knuckle.

  1. Remove the tie bar.

  1. Remove the tie bar bracket from the tie bar.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Final tightening of the rear suspension components should be carried out when the vehicle weight is on the road wheels.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
