Exhaust Manifold LH for 30L Duratec-ST Engine

Engine - 3.0L Duratec-SE (VE6)/3.0L Duratec-ST (VE6) - Exhaust Manifold LH—3.0L Duratec-ST (VE6) Mondeo 2001 (10/2000-02/2007)
In-vehicle Repair

Removal
  1. Remove the engine cover.

  1. Disconnect the left-hand heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
  1. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
    For additional information, refer to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud - 1.8L Duratec-HE (MI4)/2.0L Duratec-HE (MI4)/2.5L Duratec-VE (VE6), Vehicles With: 5-Speed Manual Transaxle (MTX-75)/6-Speed Manual Transaxle (MMT6)/4-Speed Automatic Transaxle (CD4E)/5-Speed Automatic Transaxle (5F31J) (303-03 Engine Cooling, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the left-hand catalytic converter.
    For additional information, refer to: Catalytic Converter LH - 3.0L Duratec-ST (VE6) (309-00 Exhaust System, Removal and Installation).

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Remove the left-hand exhaust manifold retaining nuts in the sequence shown.
    Remove the left-hand exhaust manifold (engine shown removed for clarity).
    • Discard the gaskets and retaining nuts.

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new exhaust manifold gaskets and retaining nuts.
    Install the left-hand exhaust manifold (engine shown removed for clarity).
    • Tighten the nuts in the sequence shown.
  1. Install the left-hand catalytic converter.

  1. Install the cooling fan motor and shroud.

  1. Connect the left-hand heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Install the engine cover.
