Remove the engine upper cover.

Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding - 1.8L/2.0L in this section.

Drain the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.

Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud - 1.8L, Vehicles With: Direct Fuel Injection in this section.

Lower the vehicle.

6. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:Install new refrigerant line O-ring seals. Coat the O-ring seals for the refrigerant lines with clean refrigerant oil prior to installation.

Removal Details

Item 1 : Coolant expansion tank coolant hose retaining clip

Disconnect the coolant expansion tank coolant hose.

Item 3 : Radiator upper coolant hose retaining clip

Disconnect the radiator upper coolant hose.

Item 5 : Radiator lower coolant hose retaining clip

Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

Disconnect the radiator lower coolant hose.

Item 7 : Radiator

CAUTION:Cap the refrigerant lines and the condenser core to prevent dirt ingress. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser core. Discard the O-ring seals

Item 8 : Right-hand radiator support bracket

NOTE:Support the radiator before removing the right-hand radiator support bracket.
