Removal and Installation Removal Vehicles with coolant pump belt tensioner | -
Remove the coolant pump belt (engine shown removed for clarity). - Rotate the coolant pump belt tensioner clockwise to release the tension from the coolant pump belt.

Using a suitable knife, cut the coolant pump belt. - Discard the coolant pump belt.

Detension the coolant pump belt tensioner, install the coolant pump belt (engine shown removed for clarity). | Vehicles without coolant pump belt tensioner | -
Remove the right-hand wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation). | | -
Remove the right-hand front fender splash shield. (left-hand shown, right-hand similar). | | -
NOTE:Install a new coolant pump belt. Install the coolant pump belt around the coolant pump pulley and the top of the camshaft pulley (engine shown removed for clarity). | | -
Make sure that the coolant pump belt is correctly positioned into the grooves of the pulleys. | | -
NOTE:Only rotate the crankshaft in the normal direction of rotation. NOTE:Guide the coolant pump belt onto the pulleys as the engine is rotated. Turn the engine until the coolant pump belt is installed on the pulleys (engine shown removed for clarity). | | -
NOTE:Only rotate the crankshaft in the normal direction of rotation. Rotate the crankshaft through 360 degrees. | | -
Check that the coolant pump belt is correctly positioned in the grooves of the pulleys. - Repeat the installation procedure if the coolant pump belt is misaligned.

Install the right-hand front fender splash shield. (left-hand shown, right-hand similar). | | -
