Body Closures - Luggage Compartment Lid Alignment Mondeo 2001 (10/2000-02/2007)

4 mm Margin Blades
  1. Loosen the luggage compartment lid striker plate retaining bolts.

  1. Remove the luggage compartment lid opening weatherstrip.

  1. Remove the luggage compartment lid bump stops.

  1. Remove the luggage compartment lid support struts.

  1. Adjust the luggage compartment lid hinge to align the luggage compartment lid hinge to body retaining bolts centrally in the hinge holes.

  1. Loosen the luggage compartment lid to hinge retaining bolts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the luggage compartment lid is in the fully closed position.
    Align the luggage compartment lid by inserting 4 mm margin blades between the outer edges of the luggage compartment lid and the rear quarter panels.
  1. Remove the 4 mm margin blades.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:While opening the luggage compartment lid, make sure it does not move on the hinges.
    Open the luggage compartment lid and tighten the luggage compartment lid to hinge retaining bolts.

  1. Loosen the luggage compartment lid hinge to body retaining bolts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the luggage compartment lid is in the fully closed position.
    Push the luggage compartment lid in the hinge area until it aligns 2 mm below flush with the rear quarter panel.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:While opening the luggage compartment lid, make sure the luggage compartment lid hinge does not move.
    Open the luggage compartment lid and tighten the luggage compartment lid hinge to body retaining bolts.

  1. Install the luggage compartment lid support struts.

  1. Install the luggage compartment lid bump stops.

  1. Install the luggage compartment lid opening weatherstrip.
  1. Fully close the luggage compartment.

  1. Open the luggage compartment lid and tighten the luggage compartment lid striker plate retining bolts.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the luggage compartment lid is in the fully closed position.
    Check the alignemnt of the luggage compartment lid.
