Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Remove the headlamp on both sides.
    For additional information, refer to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).

  1. Remove the headlamp washer cover on both sides (if equipped).
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to: (100-02 Jacking and Lifting)

    Lifting - 3.0L Duratec-ST (VE6) (Description and Operation).

  1. Remove the radiator undershield.

  1. Disconnect the low temperature warning indicator electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the fog lamp electrical connector on both sides (if equipped).

  1. Detach the fender splash shield from the bumper cover on both sides.

  1. Detach the radiator grille opening panel from the bumper cover on both sides.
Vehicles with 1.8L, 2.0L, 2.5L or diesel engine
  1. Detach the bumper cover from the fender on both sides.
Vehicles with 3.0L engine
  1. Detach the bumper cover from the fender on both sides.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the bumper cover.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
