Refer to: Timing Belt (303-01D Engine - 2.5L Duratec (VI5), Removal and Installation). -
Refer to: Ignition Coil-On-Plug (303-07C Engine Ignition - 2.5L Duratec (VI5), Removal and Installation). | | -
Loosen the bolts by two turns at a time. | Installation | -
Refer to: Valve Clearance Adjustment (303-01D Engine - 2.5L Duratec (VI5), General Procedures). | | -

Apply engine oil to all camshaft bearings. | | -
Install the camshafts in the positions shown. | | -
Tighten the bolts by two turns at a time. Torque: 17 Nm | | -
Using the special tool, align the crankshaft. | | -

NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed. -
Depending on the engine temperature, tension the timing belt. Torque: 20 Nm | | -
Rotate the crankshaft two revolutions clockwise. | | -
Using the special tool, align the crankshaft. | | -
Check the position of the timing marks and correct if neccessary. | | -
Refer to: Ignition Coil-On-Plug (303-07C Engine Ignition - 2.5L Duratec (VI5), Removal and Installation). | | -

Torque: Stage 1: 25 Nm Stage 2: 60° | | -

NOTE:Only tighten the bolt finger tight at this stage. | | - Remove the following items:
