Removal and Installation

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:Refer to: Diesel Fuel System Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
NOTE:
NOTE:Vacuum any foreign material from the fuel pump and fuel rail unions before sealing the unions with blanking caps.
NOTE:
NOTE:Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
    Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12F Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.
    Torque:
    1: 10 Nm
    2: 8 Nm
    3: 10 Nm

  1. Torque: 8 Nm

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that all openings are sealed. Use new blanking caps.
    Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00 Fuel System - General Information, General Procedures).

    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install all the bolts finger tight before final tightening.
    1. Torque: 8 Nm

      Stage 1:
      22 Nm
      Stage 2:
      25 Nm

  1. Torque: 22 Nm

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
