BRAKE FRONT DISC - SHOE AND LINING REVISION
FORD 1983-84 MUSTANG, LTD, T-BIRD
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1983-84 CAPRI, MARQUIS, COUGAR
1983-84 Mustang/Capri, LTD/Marquis and T-Bird/ Cougar front disc brake outer brake shoes will no longer have shoe buttons that must be properly
seated in the caliper housing during installation of the shoe and lining assembly. This change was processed as a running change production late in 1983.
Both types of shoe and lining assemblies will be available for a short period of time under the same part number. However, either style can be used. To
service any subject vehicle built after November 1, 1982, that has the later type front disc brakes (see 1983 Shop Manual, Book B, Section 12-20-3 for
identification of later type front disc brakes).
