Engine stumbling, poor acceleration and/or stalling at idle may be caused by carburetor icing. This can occur at ambient temperatures between 30~F and
40~F (-1~C and 5~C) with high humidity. To correct this, a new design heated carburetor spacer kit should be installed.
2.8L Installation Procedure
1.
Remove the carburetor and carburetor-to-intake manifold spacer.
2.
Install the heated carburetor spacer, -9A589-, supplied in the kit.
3.
Reinstall the carburetor.
