Because of the production location of the electric fuel pump inertia switch on 1984 3-door Mustang/Capri, 2-door Mustang and convertible with 2.3L
turbo charged EFI, 3.8L and 5.0L CFI engines, it can be activated by slamming the deck lid causing a no start condition. This condition can be serviced
by relocating the inertia switch to an area that is not susceptible to vibration caused by deck lid slamming.
This condition was corrected in production on 10/14/83. The 1984 Shop Manual, Section 24-35-7 and 24-35-8 should be updated to reflect the following
procedure:
