Hood panels may dent from hand palm pressure when closing the hood when the latch is on the safety catch position. To prevent reoccurrence of denting
after normal service to remove the dents the hood may be reinforced by "Super Panel Filler" as outlined in the procedure that follows. In production a
conventional reinforcement was added to the powerdome area of the hood on 5/15/83.

Obtain one bag of 3M Brand Super Panel Filler (05930) for each hood to be serviced, and a common household cellulose sponge (approximate
size 7-3/4" x 4-1/4" x 1-5/8") to be used as a dam. The sponge can be reused for several cars.

With hood removed from car and dents serviced, place hood on a suitable bench with the inner panel facing up and the rear elevated
approximately 10 inches.
3.
Remove the pop up spring and auxiliary hood catch from hood.
