Glove Compartment Lock: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Unsnap two clips from front and two from rear to remove cover from glove compartment lock. Remove cover from glove compartment lock.

NOTE: If key is not available, use a small screwdriver to press lock tumblers from rear and rotate glove compartment lock cylinder.

2. Insert key in glove compartment lock cylinder and rotate approximately 45 degrees from the UNLOCK position.
3. Apply pressure to outside of glove compartment lock cylinder and pry two retaining tabs away from ignition switch lock cylinder to release.
4. After releasing retaining tabs, pull glove compartment lock cylinder outward approximately 10 mm (3/8 inch). Rotate glove compartment lock

cylinder to UNLOCK position and remove key.

5. Remove glove compartment lock cylinder from glove compartment door latch.

INSTALLATION

1. Position glove compartment lock cylinder into glove compartment door latch and rotate approximately 45 degrees from UNLOCK position.
2. Push glove compartment lock cylinder in all the way until retaining tabs snap into place.
3. Rotate glove compartment lock cylinder to UNLOCK position.
