Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor: Service and Repair

Component Locations

NOTE:  The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor (12B579) is a calibrated unit. Service hot wire engine element and housing as a complete assembly. Do not
damage the sensing element (internal to housing) or possible failure of the MAF sensor may occur

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301).

2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from MAF sensor and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (12A697).

3. Loosen engine air cleaner tube clamps (9C632) on air cleaner outlet tube (9B659). Disconnect air cleaner outlet tube from MAF sensor.

4. Remove MAF sensor from engine air tray and remove MAF sensor from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Align tab on MAF sensor with slot on engine air tray.
