Front License Plate Bracket - Installation

BUMPER - GRILLE OPENING PANEL - LICENSE PLATE BRACKET INSTALLATION

FORD 1987 MUSTANG GT

To avoid poor fit and appearance problems when attaching the dealer-installed license plate bracket on the 1987 Mustang GT grille opening panel, use
the following procedure.

1.

Locate the two (2) 3 mm diameter dimples in the front face of the grille opening panel.

2.

Prick punch each dimple.

3.

Use a 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) combined drill and countersink to drill the holes in the grille opening panel.

Pull the top shelf of the lower opening in the grille opening panel down and forward and attach the front license plate mounting bracket in the two
(2) existing lower holes with two (2) rivets, N803043-S, Figure 1.

5.

Attach top of bracket to face of grille opening panel with two (2) N803043-S rivets, Figure 1.
