ISSUE:

A new EGR valve has been released for service on the above vehicles built from Job #1, 1984 through 12/01/86. This redesigned EGR valve
has increased durability and reduces the possibility of deposits in the pintle area.

ACTION:

When the new EGR valve (E7PZ- 9H473-J) is used, the vacuum harness must be modified with an elbow connector (387065-S) and a piece
of 5/32 I.D. vacuum hose (DOPZ-12226-B). Refer to the following service installation illustration, Figure 14.
