Quarter Window Glass: Adjustments
Window Glass Adjustment - Rear Quarter, Convertible
NOTE: Make sure the front door glass is adjusted correctly before adjusting the rear quarter glass. Window glass on convertible top vehicles needs to be
aligned/adjusted as a system. The rear quarter glass must be correctly aligned to the front door glass and the convertible top for correct operation. For
additional information, refer to Window Glass Adjustment - Front Door See: Front Door Window Glass/Adjustments.
1. Remove the rear quarter trim panel.
2. With the convertible top in the CLOSED position, lower the front door and quarter window glass to the fully OPEN position.
3. Remove the rear side rail seal from the convertible top rear weatherstrip retainer channel.
4. Raise the front door and quarter glass to the fully CLOSED position.
5. NOTE: Make sure the front door glass is flush to the rear quarter glass seal (division bar) or outboard no more than 2 mm (0.08 in).
Check the quarter glass-to-convertible top weatherstrip retainer alignment. There should be a 4 to 5 mm (0.16 to 0.19 in) gap between the quarter
glass and the weatherstrip retainer.
-
If necessary, use one or more of the available quarter glass jackscrews. Loosen the lock nut, adjust the jackscrew to position the glass
inboard/outboard and tighten the lock nut.
6. Loosen the 2 rear quarter window glass bolts just enough to allow some glass movement.
-
Adjust the quarter glass to be inset into the weatherstrip retainer 4 to 6 mm (0.16 to 0.24 in) while maintaining a constant 4 to 6 mm (0.16 to
0.24 in) gap between the rear quarter window glass seal (division bar) and the edge of the door glass.
-
Tighten the 2 rear quarter window glass bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
7. Lower the front door and quarter glass to the fully OPEN position.
