Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt from the A/C compressor pulley.
3. Raise the vehicle.
4. Detach the wiring harness from the A/C compressor.
5. Disconnect the A/C compressor field coil and the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connectors.
6. NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the A/C compressor bolts.
Loosen the bolts enough to slide the compressor down one inch, allowing access for CKP sensor removal.
