Mustang Cobra V8-281 4.6L DOHC VIN V MFI (1997)
NOTE: Do not pinch or damage boot material.
6. Hold disc brake caliper locating pin hex-heads with open-end wrench and remove rear brake pin retainers.
7. Lift rear disc brake caliper assembly away from rear disc support bracket.
8. Remove disc brake caliper locating pins and boots from rear disc support bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound to inside of locating pin boots and to disc brake caliper locating pins.
2. Position disc brake caliper locating pins and boots in rear disc support bracket.
3. Position rear disc brake caliper assembly and rear disc support bracket. Make sure rear brake shoes and linings and disc brake pad anti-rattle clips
are installed correctly.
4. Apply a drop of Thread-lock and Sealer to rear brake pin retainer threads. Install rear brake pin retainers. Tighten to 31-35 Nm (23-25 ft. lbs.)
while holding disc brake caliper locating pins with-an open-end wrench.
5. Attach end of parking brake rear cable and conduit to parking brake lever. Install cable retaining clip on rear disc brake caliper assembly.
6. Using new washers, connect rear wheel brake hose to rear disc brake caliper. Tighten retaining bolt to 40-60 Nm (30-44 ft. lbs.).
