Rental vehicles are not authorized for reimbursement on owner vehicles that are at the dealer for fan clip replacement only. However, Ford Motor
Company will pay for a loaner or rental vehicle if a covered vehicle requires related damage repairs due to a broken or cracked fan clip. The cost of fuel
for the loaner vehicle will be at the owner's expense. Follow Extended Service Plan (ESP) guidelines for rental dollar amounts. Enter the word
"LOANER" plus the number of days the vehicle was used in the Miscellaneous Expense area of the claim.
PARTS RETENTION
Follow the provisions of the Warranty and Policy Manual for "Parts Retention and Return Procedures".

Attachment III - Technical Information
AFFECTED VEHICLES: CERTAIN 1997 MUSTANG WITH 3.8L OR 4.6L ENGINES
1.
Install a memory saver, then disconnect the battery negative cable.
2.
Remove the degas bottle retaining screws and position the bottle aside.
3.
Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connector. Disengage the wiring harness retainers and position the harness aside.
4.
Remove the cooling fan module retaining screws and carefully remove the module from the vehicle.
5.
Place the module, with the fan blade side facing up, on a bench. Use wood blocks to support the module.
NOTE:
To avoid creating cooling fan NVH concerns, do not remove the fan assembly from the motor during clip replacement.
