Wheel Fastener: Service and Repair
Wheel Stud

Front

REMOVAL

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove wheel hub.
3. Remove wheel hub bolt (lug bolt) from wheel hub.

INSTALLATION

1. Install lug bolt into wheel hub.
2. Use a lug nut to seat lug bolt into wheel hub. Discard lug nut after use.
3. Install wheel hub.

Rear

REMOVAL

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove rear disc brake rotor. See Brakes and Traction Control.
4. Using a punch, remove lug bolt from axle flange.

INSTALLATION

1. Position lug bolt into axle flange.
2. Seat lug bolt in axle flange using a reversed lug nut.

NOTE:  Discard lug nut after use.

3. Install rear disc brake rotor. See Brakes and Traction Control.
4. Install wheel and tire assembly.
5. Lower vehicle.
