Mustang Cobra V8-281 4.6L DOHC VIN V MFI (1997)
3. Install inner wheel bearing oil seal using Axle Tube Seal Replacer T78P-1177-A. Use Premium Long Life Grease XG-1-C or -K or equivalent
meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B between lips of inner wheel bearing oil seal.
CAUTION: Installing rear wheel bearing or inner wheel bearing oil seal assembly without proper tool may result in an early rear wheel bearing
or inner wheel bearing oil seal failure. If inner wheel bearing oil seal becomes cocked in bore during installation, remove it and install new one.
4. Make sure rear axle housing vent is not plugged with debris.
5. Install axle shaft.
6. Fill the rear axle housing with lubricant: use SAE 80W-90: Premium Rear Axle Lubricant XY-80W90-QL or-KL or equivalent meeting Ford
specification WSP-M2C197-A.

For Traction-Lok axles, an additional 118.3 ml (4 oz.) of Additive Friction Modifier C8AZ-19B546-A or equivalent meeting Ford
specification EST-M2C118-A is required.
