Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive
strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness from hydraulic control unit.
3. Disconnect six brake tubes.
4. Remove the two hydraulic control unit bracket nuts and two bolts.
5. Remove hydraulic control unit and bracket from vehicle.
6. Remove two nuts and mounting bracket from hydraulic control unit.
INSTALLATION
1. Install two nuts and mounting bracket on hydraulic control unit. Tighten nuts to 14-21 Nm.
2. Install hydraulic control unit mounting bolts and two nuts. Tighten bolts to 10-14 Nm. Tighten nuts to 34-45 Nm.
3. Connect six brake tubes to hydraulic control unit. Tighten the brake tube fittings to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the wiring harness.
5. Connect battery ground cable.
6. Bleed brake system.
