Brake Hose/Line: Service and Repair
Rear
REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Disconnect rear wheel brake hose from rear brake tube, remove bolt retaining rear wheel brake hose to rear axle housing.
4. Remove rear wheel brake hose from rear disc brake caliper assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. Install rear wheel brake hose to rear axle housing retaining bolt. Tighten to 25-32 Nm (18-23 ft. lbs.).
2. Connect rear brake tube to rear wheel brake hose. Tighten to 17-23 Nm (13-17 ft. lbs.).
3. Using new washers, connect rear wheel brake hose to rear disc brake caliper. Tighten retaining bolt to 40-60 Nm (30-44 ft. lbs.).
4. Bleed rear wheel brake hose through nearest rear disc brake caliper.
5. Install wheel and tire assembly. Using Rotunda Accutorq Lug Nut Sockets 164-RO303 or equivalent on 1/2 inch drive air impact wrench or torque
wrench to tighten lug nuts to 115-142 Nm (85-104 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: Failure to tighten lug nuts in a star pattern may result in high rotor runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness,
shudder and vibration.
6. Lower vehicle.
