Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Description and Operation
Shuttle Valve

The shuttle valve, located between the front and rear brake systems in the brake pressure control valve, operates as follows:

The valve provides full pressure to rear brake system if front system loses pressure.

The valve will shuttle, opening a bypass around the proportional valve to supply fluid at full pressure to the rear brakes if the front brake system
develops significantly less pressure than the inlet side of the rear system.
