Hydraulic Brake Booster: Description and Operation
Reserve System
The reserve power-assist braking system is an integral part of the hydro-boost brake booster. It consists of the following:

charging valve, accumulator valve

compressed gas accumulator
The system is charged through the pressure port of the hydro-boost booster.
The accumulator is charged by the power steering pump pressure during normal steering or braking operation.
