Mustang GT V8-4.6L SOHC VIN X (1998)
Instrument Panel Circuit Board: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove instrument cluster.
3. Remove instrument panel lamp socket and bulbs.
4. Turn instrument cluster so instrument cluster main lens is upward. Remove retaining screws from instrument cluster main lens and instrument
cluster mask and disconnect.
5. Remove fuel/engine coolant temperature gauge assembly, oil pressure/voltmeter gauge assembly, speedometer/tachometer assembly. Retain for
assembly.
6. Remove and discard all snap-in connector clips.
7. Remove instrument cluster printed circuit.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the instrument cluster printed circuit over the locating pins and affix to locating pins in instrument cluster back plate.
2. Install instrument panel lamp socket and bulbs.
3. Install new snap-in connector clips.
4. Install speedometer/tachometer assembly, fuel gauge/engine coolant temperature gauge assembly, oil pressure gauge/voltmeter gauge assembly in
instrument cluster back plate.
5. Install instrument cluster mask, instrument cluster main lens and retaining screws.
6. Install instrument cluster.
7. Connect battery ground cable.
