Brake Lamp: Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the stoplamps to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART 

Electrical 
-

Circuitry open/shorted.

-

Fuse Junction Panel.

-

Fuse 1 (15A).

-

Fuse 9 (15A).

-

Damaged multi-function switch.

-

Damaged Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch.

-

Damaged connectors.

-

Damaged bulbs.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to Symptom Chart.  See: Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
