5. Install front rubber insulators. Make sure all rubber insulators are pushed completely inside the steering gear housing before installing the
mounting bolts.
6. Insert power steering gear input shaft into flexible coupling. Install two mounting bolts, insulator washers and nuts. Tighten the two nuts to 41-54
Nm (31-39 ft. lbs.) while holding the bolts. Install and tighten the flexible coupling bolt to 28-40 Nm (21-29 ft. lbs.).
7. Connect tie rod ends to front wheel spindles and install two retaining nuts. Tighten nuts to 48-63 Nm (36-46 ft. lbs.). After tightening to
specification, tighten retaining nuts to their nearest cotter pin castellation and install two new cotter pins.
8. Lower vehicle.
9. Turn ignition switch OFF.
10. Connect battery ground cable.
11. Fill power steering system with MERCON Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid or equivalent.
12. Check and adjust front end alignment.
