Mustang GT V8-4.6L SOHC VIN X (1998)
2. Align flats on reverse idler gear shaft with flats in reverse idler gear support bracket. Install reverse idler gear shaft onto bracket.
3. Install reverse idler bearing and gear onto reverse idler gear shaft as shown.
4. NOTE: Snug all retaining bolts first, then tighten to specification.
Place reverse idler assembly into extension housing. Using Torx 40 bit install three idler bracket retaining bolts and tighten to 19-30 Nm (14-22 ft.
lbs.).
