Heated Glass Element Switch: Description and Operation
The heated back window system consists of:

heated back window switch and light located on the LH side of the instrument cluster.

the system wiring and circuit protection. The heated back window switch and light assembly:

contains a timer-controlled relay that turns off automatically after about 10 minutes of operation.

is spring-loaded to the neutral position.
If more than 10 minutes is needed, the system can be reactivated by momentarily pressing the heated back window switch and light. This operation can
be repeated as often as necessary.
When the heated back window switch and light is momentarily pressed, the normally open contacts in the relay close, supplying power to the heated back
window grids, the indicator light in the heated back window switch and light and to the timer. The contacts will remain closed until the timer turns them
off, the heated back window switch and light is momentarily pressed or the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position.
Power to the heated back window switch and light is supplied by Fuse 1 (15A) in the fuse junction panel. This fuse is hot only with the ignition switch in
the RUN position.
