Arming and Disarming
Deactivation Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Wait one minute. This is the time required for the diagnostic monitor back up power supply to deplete its stored energy.
3. Remove the tour bolts retaining the driver air bag module assembly to the steering wheel. Disconnect the driver's air bag connector. Connect
Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00009 to the vehicle harness at the top of the steering column.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Perform the necessary tests.
Reactivation Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Wait one minute for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.
WARNING: THE AIR BAG SIMULATOR MUST BE REMOVED AND THE AIR BAG RECONNECTED BEFORE THE SYSTEM IS
REACTIVATED.
3. Remove the Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00009 from the vehicle harness at the top of the steering column. Reconnect the driver's air bag
connector. Position the driver air bag module assembly on the steering wheel and secure it with the four bolts (10 mm). Tighten the bolts to
2.7-3.7 Nm (24-34 lb-in).
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Prove out the system.
