Probe V6-153 2.5L DOHC (1994)
Equalizer: Service and Repair
RADIO & GRAPHIC EQUALIZER (GEQ)
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove two armrest compartment retaining screws, then armrest compartment, if equipped.
3. On manual transaxle models, unscrew shift knob.
4. On automatic transaxle models, remove emergency override key switch cover from top of floor console.
5. Engage parking brake, then gently pull up on upper half of floor console to separate it from lower half.
6. Disconnect cigar lighter and cigar lighter element electrical connectors.
7. Remove ashtray illumination bulb from upper half of console.
8. Remove two dash panel control console bezel screws.
9. Remove four equalizer retaining screws, then Equalizer, if necessary.
10. Insert radio removal tools T87P-19061-A, or equivalent, into face plate holes until tension of tools locking into place can be felt.
11. Flex outward on both sides of radio simultaneously, then pull radio outward using tools as handles.
12. Disconnect electrical connectors and antenna lead-in cable from back of radio.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
