Temperature Sensor (Gauge): Testing and Inspection
1. Allow engine to cool, then disconnect water temperature indicator sender unit connector.
2. Measure resistance between water temperature indicator sender unit terminal and ground.
3. Start engine.
4. Resistance should be 1150 ohms at 68°F and gradually decrease as engine warms up.
5. If resistance is not as specified, replace sender. If resistance is within specifications, return to system pinpoint test.
