Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
With Manual Transmission
REMOVAL
1. Remove transaxle, then secure flywheel by installing holding tool T74P-6375-A, or equivalent.
2. Loosen pressure plate bolts in two or three steps, then remove bolts and pressure plate.

3. Remove flywheel attaching bolts using sequence shown.
4. Using seal remover tool T92C-6700-CH, or equivalent, remove rear main seal.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply clean engine oil to outer lips of rear main seal.
2. Position seal on Crankshaft Seal Replacer tool T92C-6701-BH, or equivalent.
3. Install seal, then flywheel as follows:
a. Align flywheel to crankshaft, then loosely install flywheel bolts.

b. Install holding tool T74P-6375-A, or equivalent. Then, using sequence shown, tighten flywheel bolts in two passes to 45-49 ft lb.
c. Using Clutch Aligning tool No. T74P-7137-K, or equivalent, install clutch disc and pressure plate.
4. Install transaxle and check for leaks.
