Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Throttle Body
2. Remove the air cleaner to intake manifold tube from the throttle body.
3. Remove the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever.
4. Disconnect any necessary electrical connections and vacuum hoses from the throttle body.
NOTE: Ensure that all of the old gasket material is removed from the throttle body-to-intake manifold contact surfaces.
5. Remove the electrical, coolant and vacuum connections from the Idle Air Control Bypass Air (IAC BPA).
6. Remove the two nuts and the two bolts from the throttle body and remove the throttle body and the IAC BPA assembly.
7. Remove the four bolts attaching the IAC BPA to the bottom of the throttle body.
8. Remove the throttle body from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the throttle body nuts and bolts to 19-25 Nm (14-18 lb ft). Tighten the IAC BPA bolts to 3-4
Nm (26-35 lb in).
