Arming and Disarming

Deactivation Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Wait one minute. This is the time required for the air bag diagnostic monitor back up power supply to deplete its stored energy.
3. Remove the four bolts retaining the driver side air bag module to the steering wheel. Disconnect the driver side air bag module connector. Connect

Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00009 to the vehicle harness at the top of the steering column.

4. Remove the passenger side air bag module. Connect Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00009 to the vehicle harness.
5. Connect the battery ground cable.
6. Perform the necessary tests.

Reactivation Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Wait one minute for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.

WARNING:  THE AIR BAG SIMULATORS MUST BE REMOVED AND THE AIR BAG MODULES RECONNECTED BEFORE
THE SYSTEM IS REACTIVATED. 

3. Remove the Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00009 from the vehicle harness at the top of the steering column. Reconnect the driver side air bag

module connector. Position the driver side air bag module on the steering wheel and secure it with the four bolts (10 mm). Tighten the bolts to 7-9
Nm (61-86 lb-in).

4. Remove the Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00009 from the vehicle harness above the glove compartment. Reconnect the passenger side air bag

module. Install the passenger side air bag module. 

5. Connect the battery ground cable.
6. Prove out the system.
