Installation Procedure
Removal Procedure - Airbag Module
WARNING
THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY MUST BE DEPLETED BEFORE ANY AIRBAG COMPONENT SERVICE IS PERFORMED. TO
DEPLETE THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND WAIT ONE MINUTE.
1.
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2.
Wait one minute while the backup power supply depletes.
3.
Disconnect the two airbag diagnostic monitor connectors (under the LH instrument panel pad.).
CAUTION
When removing the glove box door from its stops, take out one door stop at a time. Trying to remove the door from both door stops at the
same time could damage the door. Also, when removing the 12" section of the heat duct, care must be taken not to damage the wire harness.
4.
Open the glove compartment door, push in the sides of the glove compartment to release the stoppers and drop open the glove compartment.
5.
Remove the glove compartment screws and remove the glove compartment.
6.
Remove the screws from the glove compartment upper cover and remove the cover.
7.
Remove the 12" section of the heat duct.
