Seat Belt Retractor: Service and Repair
Front Seat Belt, Retractor and Tongue
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Slide the front seat forward.
3. Depress the two clips securing the front of the rear seat cushion and cover to the floor.
4. Route the rear safety belts through the rear seat cushion and cover.
5. Remove the rear seat cushion and cover.
6. Position the rear seat back cover and cushion out of the way.
7. Remove the RH quarter trim panel or LH quarter trim panel.
8. Pry the front anchor bolt cover out of the way and remove the front anchor bolt.
9. Remove the mounting screws from the belt guide.
10. Lift the cover on the B-pillar and remove the pillar anchor bolt.
NOTE: There may be plastic covering on the retractor that does not need to be removed to remove the assembly.
11. Remove the quarter panel anchor bolt and mounting screw from the front safety belt retractor and tongue.
12. Remove the front safety belt retractor and tongue.
