Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control
module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
2. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove two TP sensor set screws and lift sensor from throttle body.
INSTALLATION
Throttle Position Sensor
1. Open the throttle slightly to align the tab A and tab B of the TP sensor to the throttle body.
2. Align the mounting holes and install the TP sensor.
3. Check that tab A and tab B are properly aligned. Properly adjust TP sensor. See: Adjustments
4. Tighten the TP sensor set screws to 2.0 Nm (14-20 lb in).
5. Connect the battery ground cable.
