Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair
Front
1.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel.
2.
Remove six transverse member retaining bolts, then the transverse member.
3.
Remove two bolts and six nuts from transaxle cradle, then the cradle.
4.
Disconnect Heated Oxygen Sensor electrical connectors.
5.
Disconnect converter inlet pipe(s) at exhaust manifold(s) and position aside.
6.
On models equipped with manual transaxle, remove extension bar nut, then the transaxle shift linkage bolt.
7.
Position a jack under front crossmember, then remove four bolts and two nuts retaining crossmember to body.
8.
Remove stabilizer bar to stabilizer control link retaining nuts, then the four stabilizer bar bracket bolts.
9.
Lower front crossmember to allow for removal of stabilizer bar.
10.
Remove stabilizer bar from right side of vehicle.
11.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply rubber grease to inside surfaces of stabilizer bushings.
b. Align bushing with installation mark on stabilizer bar.
